About Us
I started Kenorah™ out of both frustration—and hope.
As a woman in corporate America who loves dressing up—whether it’s for the office, brunch, or a 4 p.m. Friday happy hour—I kept running into the same wardrobe dilemma: settle for fast fashion made of cheap fabrics or splurge on “luxury” dresses that drained my credit card, only to find out they were also 95–100% polyester with a shiny label slapped on.
Neither option fit my lifestyle—or my values. And I knew I wasn’t the only one.
So many women are tired of flimsy fabrics, inconsistent sizing, and trend-chasing pieces that neither flatter nor last. Fast fashion has become a race to the bottom—and our clothing is only getting worse. We’re crying out for help, with many of us turning to thrifting just to find better-made, higher-quality pieces. Enough!
That’s why I created Kenorah. The name itself carries meaning from different languages:
-
Ken, in English, means knowledge, insight, or understanding. You might have heard the phrase “within one’s ken,” which speaks to awareness or depth of knowing.
-
Ora, in Latin and Italian, means time or hour.
-
The name also nods to Norah, which means honor and light, bringing dignity and illumination to the brand’s meaning.
To me, that perfectly captures what this brand stands for: reviving the wisdom of an era when clothing was made to last.
Kenorah is for women who want timeless, thoughtfully crafted pieces that feel as good as they look. Our fabrics—whether natural or blended—are chosen for softness, stretch, and durability.
At Kenorah, we produce smaller, intentional collections because overproduction is the root of fashion’s waste problem. By limiting our runs, we keep our pieces special, reduce waste, and ensure that every dress we make has purpose.
Thank you for being part of our journey. We’d love to hear your feedback—on our styles, what you’re searching for, and how we can improve. Together, we can build a community that brings back better clothing.
With gratitude,
— Kenya, Founder & CEO
